Dream on, Dream on, and

Dream until your dreams come true?

By Destiny Nolasco and Emily Lopez

When people dream, their central nervous system goes into an active state. Their body changes, their heart rate goes up, their breath gets more rapid, and their brain waves change. Fortunately, humans’ muscles are relaxed during REM sleep which prevents people from acting out their dreams. The muscles that are around mouths, fingers and eyes do twitch back and forth, but no other muscles are active. There are even unique sleep apps available for downloading at the App Store to track individuals’ sleep patterns. Science can tell all these interesting facts about dreaming, but can they answer the age old question of the importance of this subconscious imagination? People link dreams to emotions that they feel in real life. For instance, having a falling dream is the most common dream. A falling dream is when you imagine yourself falling or tripping abruptly in your dream; you have a sensation of falling physically.

One theory for having a falling dream is because of failure. Having fears of failing in school, love, self-confidence, or honesty can all lead to these falling dreams. Another dream people can have is one of being lost or trapped. These dreams are very simple and plain. When you get these types of nightmares you are most likely stuck or confused in a certain situation in your life.If you have been hiding something from others be prepared to have a nude dream. Embarrassment about nudity implies guilt or shame. But if you are comfortable about nudity in your dream, you are secure and have nothing to hide. Have you ever had your computer drive crash in your dream? Have you ever tried calling someone to only hear the phone ring endlessly? Although these dreams are not as terrifying, it does mean something. Whenever you have technology malfunctions in your dreams, it most likely means that you are failing to reach out to someone on an emotional level.

If this is a common dream for you, the best thing to do is think about all your relationships and keep in touch with close friends and family.   Usually when you are over your head studies show that you will have drowning dreams. If you struggle with these kinds of dreams you can solve that problem with Lucid Dreaming. Lucid Dreaming is basically just realizing that you were dreaming while you are inside the dream. Changing your mind set while you are in a dream can solve these eerie dreams. So, if you instead just think about flying and swimming you can gain control of your own subconscious.Dreams have been discussed by many persons for centuries and centuries and will continue to entertain the creative minds that dwell on this earth.

Fear of Being
Overpowered?

The shadows were gliding through the darkness like ghouls of an ancient realm. The condemned souls were closing in on me. I ran but the darkness was impenetrable. I was run but seemingly not moving at all. I was filled with terror and falling, spiraling into the darkness being engulfed by the malicious souls. Then one grabbed me and I woke up.

Guilt Trip?
Literally

Sitting on a bus stop in the middle of the desert. Next to me is sitting a friend of a time long past. We, are both staring at the nonexistent road, and the dust drifting over the desolate land. I turn to my friend and she stabs me in the stomach. I crumble to the ground, writhing. The bus pulls up and my friend gets on. The bus drives away, I’m left all alone to die in a desert. Then I wake up.
